Mulitmedia Blogger PAID Internship

The OSU Library seeks a creative individual with strong writing and digital media skills to serve as the Oklahoma Oral History Research Program’s Multimedia Blogger Intern. The successful candidate will work with the OOHRP to build and populate a travel blog to supplement an upcoming oral history project, "Cowboys in Every County." In this new statewide project, OOHRP faculty will interview at least one OSU alum in all 77 Oklahoma counties during 2015 in conjunction with the campus' 125th anniversary.

The Multimedia Blogger Intern will work 10-15 hours per week during the summer (May 10 - August 7, 2015). Hours will primarily be scheduled Monday-Friday between 8 am and 5 pm, with the possibility of some extended hours based on travel needs.

Employment as an intern is on a semester by semester basis. Continued employment is contingent upon funding and performance. This position may be eligible for internship credit for some majors. Filing for credit is the responsibility of the student.




The Multimedia Blogger Intern will work collaboratively with the Oklahoma Oral History Research Program faculty and staff to create a dynamic and engaging travel blog experience to highlight the work done for the Cowboy in Every County oral history project conducted during 2015. The responsibilities of the intern will include contributing to the travel blog with written descriptions of the oral history experience, including a community profile for each interview destination. The blog will include photographs, audio and video clips, and experts from recorded oral history interviews. The intern will be responsible for assisting to shape the public story of this project's goals, while highlighting culture and community in all 77 counties in Oklahoma.

Required Qualifications:

  • OSU student enrolled at least part-time (6 hours undergraduate/ 4 hours graduate).
  • Experience with photography
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability and interest in traveling in Oklahoma
  • Comfort asking questions, and seeking feedback
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and ability to work on PC.
  • Ability to maintain professional decorum in a team environment and accept constructive feedback on writing.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with blog writing.
  • Experience working in WordPress.
  • Experience with social media.
  • Experience with audio and video production.
